The band has opened for Blues great and Grammy winner B.B. King, 5 time Grammy winner The Robert Cray Band and 4 time Grammy winner Buddy Guy. Bud's recent musical credits include lead guitar and vocals with The Piranha Brothers as well as backing up Guy Cruz (of Pure Heart), Makana, Jeff K. and others. He has also appeared on Michael Piranha's Hoku nominated album Silhouette Artist and Jeff K's Guava Skies. Bud also co-produced the Jeff K. original Exterra Blues which became the theme song for the Exterra Triathlon and has been played on ESPN. Bud Cerio has been playing music for twenty years. Primarily self-taught, he has integrated the techniques of such guitar greats as B.B. King, Jerry Garcia, Carlos Santana and Eric Clapton, and through this has created a unique soulful musical style of his own. His lyrics often deliver a positive message about love and life and the need for personal evolution in order to make global changes. In his song "If You Want To Change The World" he sings, "If you want to change the world/ you gotta have a mirror in you hand/ open up your heart and soul/ to the brotherhood of man."
Bud Cerio & The Now formed in 1998. The band includes Bud's long time band mate Dave Ojeda on bass guitar, San Diego favorite John "Toomey" on Keyboards and one of Hawaii's finest drummers, Scott Shafer. Although each member comes from a different musical background, together they have created a solid foundation based upon the same musical philosophy and goals for the future. Bud says of his fellow band members, "We share the same fundamental dreams of what we want to achieve musically." The group's vision of the future is to take the best from all their musical influences and fuse them together into the ultimate incarnation of their talents. They strive to create a union of audience and musician through their passion for celebration through music.
With the belief that music is a celebration of life and that love is still the finest thing around, the group enjoys the challenge of taking the music to a new and unexplored realm every show. Just as their is a flow to life, there is a flow to their music and at those occasional highly inspired moments the band has been described by many fans as epic.

Because The Now is a highly improvisational band, no two shows are alike. Since, in the past there have been missed opportunities to record the many shows that have been magical and inspiring, the band has agreed to document and share these moments of spontaneous creative exploration, The Now will soon have recordings of every show. The Now also fully recognizes the contribution of crowd energy to these moments and therefore support live taping of shows as well as tape trading as long as The Now is provided a copy of the recording upon request and the tapes are not used for commercial use or distribution without the written consent of Bud Cerio and Xandica Productions!
A board feed will be provided where available, but you must consult the engineer "before" the show. Also, please understand his main job is to mix the band and he will assist only when he is available. We reserve the right to refuse access to recording in any form, at any time that we deem necessary.
